Veterinary Technician Amy with Dogs Oberon and OthelloAmy was a latecomer to veterinary medicine. After a short tour in the U.S. Air Force, she worked as an investment advisor and Registered Paraplanner at a boutique investment firm in California. In 2010, Amy left the finance/investment world when her active duty Air Force husband was transferred to Germany.

In Germany, Amy fell in love with veterinary medicine while working as a veterinary nurse at the U.S. Army veterinary clinic in Stuttgart, Germany. Amy has worked as a veterinary technician in small animal general practice as well as in veterinary cardiology. She began working at Crofton Veterinary Center in 2014 and was promoted to Hospital Manager in February 2019.

Outside of work, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her Bernese Mountain Dog (Othello), three cats (Chalupa, Tacocat, & Pico de Gato), husband, and teenage son. She is a lifelong learner who obtained her Master's Degree in Business Administration in December of 2018.

photo unavailable 150x200Sarah graduated from St. Mary’s College of Maryland in 2011 with a BA in sociology. During her time in college, she worked as a veterinary assistant and barn helper at an equine practice.

In 2012, she joined Wolf Creek Equine hospital as a veterinary assistant, working both in the hospital’s ICU and ambulatory service. Sarah came to work for Crofton Veterinary Center in the spring of 2019. In her free time, Sarah enjoys spending time with her horses and dogs, as well as gardening vegetables.

photo unavailableAmy Joined Crofton Veterinary Center in August 2017. She worked at a pet food retailer for two years while she was in high school and it was there that she discovered that she wanted to further her career in the field of animal care. She is currently enrolled in an online program to become a Registered Veterinary Technician. She has been very passionate about caring for and learning about animals since a young age.

In her spare time, she enjoys being outdoors, fishing or hiking, and spending time with her family and friends. Her pets include her Pitbull, Petey, four kitties: Mojo, Diesel, Macchi, and Sunny, as well as her turtle Parker.

photo unavailable 150x200Elizabeth graduated with her Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture Science with an emphasis in Veterinary Technology and obtained her license as a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) in 2016. She joined the Crofton Veterinary Center team in November 2015, and she can be seen taking appointments, assisting with surgeries, or helping with treatments for our patients. When she is not at work, she enjoys spending time at home with her Dachshund (Little Girl), Labrador Retriever mix (Peter), and her boyfriend.

Veterinary Assistant LaurieWhile working on her Veterinary Assistant certificate, Laurie joined the Crofton Veterinary Center team in March of 2015. She completed her certificate at the College of Southern Maryland in May of 2015. She can be seen providing treatments for patients, helping with appointments, and monitoring anesthesia. She is currently pursuing her degree to become a Registered Veterinary Technician. When not at CVC, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She shares her home with her fiancé, father, and three kitty children Jasper, Leo, and Jiji.

 

photo unavailableTara joined the Crofton Veterinary team in the Spring of 2017. She comes to us with over a year of experience as a veterinary surgery technician. Before she found her niche in veterinary medicine, Tara taught English in South Korea and was a correctional officer in Texas.

Tara was born and raised in South Florida and received her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and psychology at Florida International University. Tara lives with her husband, 3 dogs (Meeko, Tiger Lily, and King Louie), cat (Bastet), and soon to be baby boy! When not at work, Tara enjoys spending time with her family and traveling.

photo unavailable 150x200Christina has been passionate about animals from a very young age. She started her career in veterinary medicine while volunteering at a wellness clinic in 2013 and received her veterinary assisting certification from the College of Southern Maryland in 2016.

Christina joined the Crofton Veterinary Center team in early 2019. She has two Labrador retrievers, Gunner and Hershey.

 

photo unavailable 150x200Katlyn joined the Crofton Veterinary Center team in April 2019 and brings with her 10 years of experience in veterinary medicine. She has a Golden Retriever named Morty that does search and rescue work.

When she is not in the clinic loving on our patients, Katlyn enjoys spending time with her daughter.

photo unavailableAllison joined the Crofton Veterinary Center team in February 2019. She comes to us with three years of experience working as a kennel technician and a year of pet store experience. She has had a passion for animals since she was very young, and enrolled in an online program to become a registered veterinary technician in 2018. She hopes to learn as much as she can about companion animal medicine and plans to focus on physical therapy in the future. In her spare time, she enjoys being outside; camping, hiking, and being on the water. Allison lives with her family’s German Shepherd/Bloodhound/Lab mix, Milo, her mixed breed puppy, Butters, and her two hermit crabs, Crush and Ariel.

Veterinary Dental Technician MikeMike is our dental technician and has been with the practice for over 10 years. He is a skilled technician with years of veterinary dental training. He performs most of the dental cleanings and we are very thankful to have him on board. Mike lives with a Newfoundland, two Labradors, a Corgi, his wife and daughter.

 

Pet Groomer Jen with Dog ChewyJen started working at Crofton Veterinary Center in early 2014. She brings to our team 5 years of veterinary technician experience, as well as pet grooming experience. Jen graduated from the Baltimore School of Dog Grooming in 2013, and completed a Veterinary Assistant course in 2009. Currently she works with us as a part-time veterinary technician and a part-time pet groomer.

Jen's household consists of her son, Reese; Border Collie, Chewy; and two cats, Rambo and Bentley. In her spare time, she likes to be outdoors hiking, horseback riding, or at the beach, as well as spending time with her son, family and friends.
